The first Club curling event of the new season took place at Stranraer on Thu 22 Oct where 4 Rinks incorporating 3 guest players took to the, as too be expected, quality ice for a day's social curling albeit with some trepidation given the protracted period of ice not being available at Greenacres'.
The Rinks comprised for the morning session:
Rink 1: Euan Lawrenece, Ronnie Peat, Jimmy Niblock and Gordon Todd (sub Simon Bloomfield).
Rink 2: Peter Galloway, David Graham, Jennifer Mutter (sub Steell Mcfadzean), Jenny Bloomfield.
Rink 3: Fraser Hogg, Bob Cherry, Trevor Harrison (sub Ally Henry), Donald Cattanach.
Rink 4: David Hope, Chris Clow (sub Ernest Mutter), Peter Reynolds, Richard Morrison.
After a very welcome and flavoursome soup and snack lunch, the Rinks took to the ice once again with the morning's Skips now playing lead and changes to opposition and ice sheet allocations. The results of both the morning and afternoon sessions were then tabulated with the winners being declared as Rink 2 and prizes awarded by Past Pres Fraser given that the current Pres/Sec was in the successful Rink! The runners up were Rink 3."
Apologies from Ronnie, but photos of the day will be published in a few days.
